Words of Wisdom

Yesterday at practice we did 4x500 as a mock 2K kind of thing, and my coach was talking to us in between the 2nd and 3rd 500, and he gave us a piece of advice that really hit home for me. He said, “Anyone can row the first 1000 and last 500 of a 2K, but not just anyone can row the third 500. The third 500 is what separates us, it’s where we see what you’re made of. The third 500 is where the race begins.”

And that folks is the most profound advice I have heard in a long time.
